 Software Engineer

WattTime, a nonprofit tech startup subsidiary of the Rocky Mountain Institute, has an immediate opening for a talented Software Engineer to help us build the next generation of our pollution cutting products.

Who we are

Where is your electricity coming from right now? It could be from dirty coal or clean solar and the answer changes every 5 minutes. WattTime’s technology is the first to allow power users to know how their electricity is generated in real time. This enables any internet connected device to automatically reduce carbon emissions – from electric car chargers to smartphones to data centers to building HVAC systems. We work to give individuals and organizations the power to choose what type of electricity they use.

Our partners and customers include tech companies such as Microsoft and Google, cities like Austin, TX, Universities like UC Berkeley, and many other electricity consumers. Our technology is poised to reshape the landscape of energy production and consumption, with the potential to dramatically reduce carbon emissions globally.
